Stout BBQ Sauce Recipe
This Stout BBQ Sauce is everything you could want in a sauce! Sweet, tangy, spicy and smoky with a hint of bitterness from the gluten-free First Chop Pod Vanilla Dark Stout. Perfect as a dip, veggie coating, spread, marinade for either meat or veggies, or as a pizza sauce! Vegan + Gluten Free + Dairy Free + low carb.

- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar see notes*
- 1 330 ml can First Chop Pod Stout
- 1 tbsp liquid smoke see notes**
- 1/4 cup stevia
- 1.5 tsp mustard powder
- 1/4 tsp cumin
- 3/4 tsp allspice
- 1/2 tsp hot paprika
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
Place a pot on the stove over medium heat.
Add your liquids first - tomato sauce, vinegar, liquid smoke and First Chop Pod Vanilla Stout.
1 cup tomato sauce, 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar see notes*, 1 330 ml can First Chop Pod Stout, 1 tbsp liquid smoke see notes**
Add mustard powder, cumin, allspice, hot paprika, salt, pepper and stevia.
1/4 cup stevia, 1.5 tsp mustard powder, 1/4 tsp cumin, 3/4 tsp allspice, 1/2 tsp hot paprika, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp salt
Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until your sauce is the consistency you want.
*can use other vinegars like white wine, red wine, white, malt. You may need to reduce the amount a little if the vinegar is strong
**can add up to two tbsp of liquid smoke
