Ingredients

  • 1-8 frozen burger patties beef, turkey, veggie, etc. See note 1 for homemade recipe
  • Extra seasoning optional, see note 2 for ideas
  • Cooking spray optional
  • Cheese optional
  • Buns and toppings to serve

Instructions

  • Begin by preheating the oven to 200°C/400°F/Fan 180°C/Gas 6.
  • (Optional) In a baking tray, add a layer of aluminum foil (or parchment paper) to the bottom. This will catch any drippings and make clean-up easier.
  • Place a metal wire rack over the aluminum foil and then add the frozen hamburger patties on top in a single layer. I can usually fit 6 burgers on one tray.
  • When the oven is ready, bake the patties for 25-30 minutes until they are cooked through (see note 3). Tip: If you're baking raw frozen beef burgers, add an extra 10 minutes.
  • Check that the burgers are ready by checking the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. When the instant-read thermometer reads 71°C/160 degrees F, they are ready to eat.
  • Optionally, you can broil the burgers under the hot grill in your oven for 1-2 minutes to give them a nice crust.
  • Another option right before serving is adding some cheese slices. Again, broil the burgers with a slice of cheese on top of each for about a minute until the cheese begins to melt. You don't want it to melt too much or it'll ooze off of the burger into the extra fat below!
  • Add these flavorful burgers to your favorite bun or a salad bowl with all of the toppings and enjoy!

  1. Homemade frozen burgers: Click here to check out my Homemade Freezer Burger Recipe. It's so juicy and flavorful!
  2. Extra seasoning: Store-bought frozen burgers can be pretty bland. Check out my post on 21 Easy Ways to Season Frozen Burgers to elevate your dinner to the next level.
  3. Cooking time: The cook time depends on the thickness of the burgers and also your oven. Some ovens run a little cooler over time as the thermostat can become less efficient. The best way to make sure the burgers are cooked properly is to check them with a meat thermometer.
